Richard Saltoun Gallery will exhibit in Paris Photo international art fair presenting Russian Avant-Garde photography and Feminst works from the 70s.

Alexander Rodchenko and VKhUTEMAS Workshops
The Russian Avant-Garde selection will comprise experimental photographic works from acknowledged Constructivist artist Alexander Rodchenko alongside a curated collection of works from the artists of the VKhUTEMAS Workshops. The leading and innovative school for arts, design and architecture founded by Lenin in 1920, the Workshops were closed by Stalin in 1930. Leading professors of the school included Kazimir Malevich, Liubov Popova and Rodchenko.

The Feminist Avant-Garde
Feminist works will include a selection of female artists active during the 70s in France, England, Austria and Portugal: Helena Almeida, Renate Bertlmann, Helen Chadwick, Rose English, VALIE EXPORT, Alexis Hunter, Friedl Kubelka, Gina Pane and Jo Spence. Despite the cultural and geographic discrepancies, this selection will exhibit common threads and shared politics in feminist art practices across Western Europe, as well as exploring the different uses of the photographic medium.
