Studied at the Minneapolis School of Fine Arts

Received a scholarship to the Art Students League in New York during the 1920s
1921
Traveled to Europe and for the next eight years, he supported himself by having his drawings published in several German and American magazines, including “Vanity Fair,” “Jugend,” “The Dial” and “Masses.”
1927
Returned to the United States where he was employed by the Graphic Arts Division of the WPA Federal Arts Project in New York City, producing lithographs
1929 - 1936
Dehn’s work was included in the AIGA “Fifty Prints of the Year”

He was on the advisory board of the American Artists School

Earned a Guggenheim Fellowship
