Robilant+Voena is pleased to announce its debut appearance at Fine Arts Paris.
For the first time, R+V will be participating in Fine Arts Paris, with a stand celebrating the work of Italian artists.
Robilant+Voena opened its Paris space in 2020, and is committed to developing its presence in the city. Marco Voena feels strongly that "Paris has always been a premier international city and now, after Brexit, has become even more central to the art world. R+V's participation in Fine Arts Paris attests to this, as the French art market moves from strength to strength."
Voena continues, "Fine Arts Paris appeals to connoisseurs, a breed of client becoming ever more rare in other markets. The fair unites exceptional dealers in French art, and our intention is not to compete with them in their own market, but to bring Italian masterworks to a discerning audience."
The nineteenth century was a time when many Italian artists had strong connections to Paris. The gallery's stand will feature an animated portrait by Giovanni Boldini, the renowned Italian painter of the Beau Monde, and a bohemian interior scene by Virgilio Costantini. View paintings by Carlo Bossoli and Frans Vervloet will conjure an air of Italy, and a bust of Antonio Canova, by his pupil Raimondo Trentanove, will act as the central focus. The stand will also feature a few modern highlights by Italian postwar artists including Enrico Castellani and Mario Schifano, showcasing the gallery's ability to mix old and modern masters.
R+V will be at stand 24, Fine Arts Paris at the Carrousel du Louvre, 6–11 November 2021, with a VIP preview on 5 November.
