At this year's Frieze Masters, Robilant+Voena are pleased to present an impressive group of Old Master paintings by important artists such as Artemisia Gentileschi and Giovanni Domenico Tiepolo, alongside masterpieces by Modern Artists such as Lucio Fontana, Pietro Consagra and John Chamberlain.

An icon of feminist empowerment, Artemisia Gentileschi is one of the most acclaimed Caravaggesque painters in the 17th century. Gentileschi's painting depicts an Allegory of Fame, whose allegorical attributes are a speaking trumpet and a laurel crown.

This depiction of a young person dressed as a page is one of a group of fantasy portraits by Giovanni Domenico Tiepolo dated to his years in Spain between 1762-1770. Although overshadowed by his father Gianbattista, Giovanni Domenico was a significant painter in his own right; his work being more down to earth and less allegorical.

Alongside the Old Master Paintings, Robilant+Voena will also present a selection of works by Modern Italian Masters, a speciality of the gallery, such as Lucio Fontana and Pietro Consagra amongst other Modern Artists such as John Chamberlain.

Lucio Fontana is one of the most innovative artists of the 20th century, with his practice of slashing the canvas to open up a new dimension for the genre of painting. Beginning as a sculptor, Fontana created a body of Baroque ceramic work since 1930s to 1950s, such as the sensual Crocifisso on view. Juxtaposed with it is John Chamberlain's Untitled, a stunning example of the artist’s signature process of improvising and crunching discarded automobile parts into elegant sculptures.

Pietro Consagra is one of Europe’s most renowned Post-War sculptors. His free standing works are pivotal examples of how he redefined the coordinates of modern sculptures, rejecting the traditional three-dimensionality to develop a more direct and free interaction between art, audience and environment.

Concurring with Frieze Masters, Robilant+Voena will also present Pietro Consagra's first solo exhibition in London.
