Robilant+Voena is pleased to announce an exhibition of works on paper by Minjung Kim, in the Forum Paracelsus, St. Moritz. This is Minjung's third exhibition with R+V, and her second in St. Moritz with the gallery, following a successful show in 2018–19.

Minjung Kim is a Korean artist who creates ink paintings on paper, often colouring, cutting, burning and layering the paper, conceiving meditative compositions. Her peaceful yet rhythmic artworks synthesise the artist’s knowledge of Eastern and Western artistic traditions, facilitating her exploration of the interrelationship between the two.

By combining calligraphy and watercolour painting techniques learnt during her initial artistic education in Korea, with a curiosity for Western painting, especially twentieth-century abstraction, the artist gives life to ink paintings that seem to pulsate with a delicate balance of formal and process-based qualities. In concert with her painting, Minjung layers cut and burnt paper, enhancing the spatial and temporal dimensions of her works.

The works in this exhibition represent some of the artist’s most celebrated series from the past decade. Selected specially for the Forum Paracelsus, the works intend to reflect and complement the immense beauty of the unique environment of the Engadin region.
