Our presentation features masterworks from the most significant artists working in Italy and across Europe throughout the centuries, with some exciting new discoveries and a section focusing on paintings incorporating the unusual medium of stone.
Among the earliest works in the presentation are a stunning gold ground by Alvaro Pirez d'Évora and a Leonardesque work on panel by Fernando Yáñez de la Almedina. A late painting by Jacopo Bassano reveals the continued development of the master in his final years. Works by Venetian artists feature strongly in the display: one of the highlights is an exquisite painting by Giambattista Tiepolo, an important recent addition to his oeuvre. Other key Venetian works include a genre piece by Pietro Longhi and a masterful veduta by Michele Marieschi.
Our display also includes a masterful portrait by Franz Xaver Winterhalter and a meticulous figure study by Anne-Louis Girodet.
The presentation is brought into the modern era with a selection of works by pioneering 20th-century Italian artists including Lucio Fontana, Alighiero Boetti and Marino Marini, alongside iconic pieces by Pablo Picasso and Andy Warhol.
Alongside this broad sweep of artistic creation across the centuries, our booth also features a focus on paintings using stone as a medium. An exquisite series of pietre dure panels, created in the Florentine Galleria dei Lavori established by Ferdinando I de’ Medici in the 16th century, exhibit an unparalleled level of craftsmanship. These are complemented by an array of paintings on slate, including a pair of architectural fantasies by François de Nomé and a two-sided devotional work by Brusasorzi.
Overall, our presentation offers fine examples from some of the most important moments in European art history, showing Robilant+Voena’s unique scope of specialisms across old and modern masters.
