BOCA RATON, Fla.—Rosenbaum Contemporary will present new work by Abstract Expressionist painter Brenda Hope Zappitell of Delray Beach, Fla., in an exhibition from Dec. 8, 2011, through Feb. 4, 2012. The exhibition will open with an Artist’s Reception from 6 to 8 p.m. at the gallery, 608 Banyan Trail, in Boca Raton, Fla. Regular gallery hours are Tuesday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
“The paintings in this series, Journey of Uncertainty, convey my desire to embrace life’s uncertainties,” Zappitell said. “My work has enabled me to surrender control and follow a path that is unplanned and spontaneous. In daily life, uncertainty has brought me angst, but in my creative world, uncertainty has brought me great joy and freedom. It has given me the opportunity to fully experience and appreciate serendipity, to release my preconceptions and remain open to the unpredictable journey of each painting. My goal is to reach and cherish this level of openness in other facets of my life, and, through my work, share this sense of liberation with others.”
Zappitell’s work has been gaining recognition. She is currently a finalist in The Artist Magazine’s 28th Annual Art Competition, has a painting in the December/January issue of Coastal Living Magazine, and will be featured as the “Artist of the Month” in May 2012 on artistsnetwork.com. Zappitell has also been a five-time Artslant.com Showcase winner. Her work has been exhibited at the Center for Contemporary Arts in Santa Fe, N.M.; The San Diego Art Institute, The Museum of the Living Artist in California and the Cornell Museum in Delray Beach, Fla.
