Scott White Contemporary Art is pleased to announce Frequencies: Blur & Focus, an exhibition featuring an exciting new series of paintings on silkscreen by New York-based artist Stanley Casselman. The exhibition will open November 5 and will remain on view through January 27, 2017. Please join the gallery in a reception for the artist on Saturday, November 5 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.

Frequencies: Blur & Focus marks Stanley Casselman's second solo exhibition with Scott White Contemporary Art and his return to working on polyester screen. In Lauren Buscemi's essay for the accompanying catalog, she notes that in using this non-traditional material, "Frequencies skirts the line between spontaneity and control. Random occurrence is embraced, but Casselman shapes his paintings through a labor intensive process. Working entirely from the back of the screen, Casselman executes controlled lines using tape contrasted with loose fading sweeps of color made by pouring concentrated areas of pigment along the top edge of a painting and squeegeeing the mass across the surface."
