SETAREH is delighted to participate in the 2022 edition of Paris Photo. The Fair will run from November 10–13, with a VIP preview on Wednesday, November 9, 2022. Our project "digital + analogue = dialogue" presents latest works by three photo-based artists of the gallery, which reveal both thematic and formal references:

Philipp Goldbach's "Lossless Compression (University of Bonn, Art History)" extends his series of slide installations (Centre Pompidou, Museum Folkwang), in which entire art historical slide libraries are transformed into murals, echoing the structures of digital image media.

Peter Miller explores the conditions and possibilities of photography in his conceptual yet playful approach. His works reflect in a pointed and humorous way the manifestations of the medium, its physical-chemical foundations as well as its imaging and meaningful functions.

Sebastian Riemer's high-resolution photographed slides of icons of art history reflect the canon of contemporary art. In high magnification, states of decay as well as the limits of durability and reproducibility of analogue image carriers become visible in an almost painterly quality.
