With a background in architecture and a long career in global finance, I was always involved with art and closely followed art trends. My love of art led me eventually to Tajan where I learn daily and find delight in the creative spirit of many centuries. This absorbing art passion grew and expanded into a strong dedication to the art of our times and the development of he Gallery . Through artist focused and thematic exhibitions presented several times a year, he Gallery  has now become a creative trendsetter. It is a rich source to discover in Paris local and international new, emerging talent and rediscover overlooked or forgotten artistic movements and individual artists. Our goal is to share with the broadest public art, culture and our passion for innovation and creativity.

Beauty and art are the source of my continuing energy and excitement in this challenging world. My never ending thirst for discovery leads me to regular visits to museums, galleries and artists’ studios on both sides of the Atlantic.

My dedication to painting and continuous search for new insights into its depth and mystery, made me discover my profound attraction to Portraiture. I finally understood that the portrait is the artist’s ultimate test because it requires the complete blending of exterior visual imagery with the expression of people’s innermost personal feelings. A successful portrait fuses perfectly artistic and conceptual mastery and is the absolute glorification of painting.

I believe there is an evolving continuity in art and innovation and beauty traverse centuries and are there to be found everywhere if one choses to look. “Portraits Forever”, an exhibition which takes a historical approach to portraiture, begins with a few Old Masters and Modern paintings including Modigliani and Picabia and continues into the Post War and Contemporary area covering first more classic artists such as Evelyne Axell, Luc Tuymans, Michael Borremans, David Salle, Alex Katz, Apostolos Georgiou and Sorin Campan.

The exhibition continues to the recent period to cover younger artists innovating today. While it was difficult to select among the many talented artists creating today, I decided to focus on the ones I particularly believe in and defend strongly such as Wilhelm Sasnal, Paulina Olowska, Adrian Ghenie, Kaye Donachie, Patrizio di Massimo, Ella Kruglyanskaya, Aliza Nisenbaum, Georgia Gardner Gray…

As the French contemporary art scene has not been particularly known for defending painting in recent years, I am extremely happy and proud to have discovered and included in our exhibition some remarkable young painters such as Christine Safa, Elene Shatberashvili, Nathanaelle Herbelin and Mathieu Cherkit who have graduated from Beaux Arts in Paris.

It is with great pleasure that I invite you all to come see “Portraits Forever”, a special exhibition dedicated to exceptional artists covering a fascinating subject.
