Gallery 2: ANALIA SABAN
September 6 – October 20, 2012

For the artist’s first solo exhibition in New York, Analia Saban presents Gag, a series of new and exciting works that explore the artist’s unorthodox style of painting. Working with new materials that play with contrasting ideas of life and decay, Saban dissects and reconfigures traditional notions of painting, often using the medium of paint itself to create familiar imagery and sculptural objects.

Saban's work is currently on view as part of the biennial survey exhibition, MADE IN LA 2012, organized by the Hammer Museum in collaboration with LA>La Ballena Negra, MARCO Museum of Contemporary Art, Vigo, Spain, October 5, 2012 - March 3, 2013 (group), Lost Line: Selections from the Permanent Collection, Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), November 23, 2012 – February 24, 2013 (group), among others.
