The Court Gallery was founded in 1990, and specializes in works by the Newlyn School and St. Ives School, the Camden Town Group, the London Group, and Bloomsbury.
Permanently in stock are British and French paintings, drawings, and prints from 1880 to the present, with an emphasis on British Impressionist and Post-Impressionist Art. The Court Gallery specializes in finding important paintings for both private collectors and institutional buyers. Previous clients have included King's College Cambridge, Linklaters, the National Portrait Gallery, Penlee House Gallery, Southampton City Art Gallery, and Westminster School, among many others.
Dr. Denys Wilcox is an art historian who has written extensively about 19th- and 20th-century British Art. His books include The London Group 1913–1939: The Artists and Their Works, published by Scolar Press in 1994. John Wilcox is a graduate of Pembroke College, Cambridge, an Essex cricketer, and former headmaster of Alleyn Court Preparatory School for 22 years.
