teamLab: Continuous Life and Death at the Now of Eternity

229 Hamilton Avenue Palo Alto, CA 94301, USA Thursday, November 15, 2018–Sunday, January 6, 2019

Pace Gallery is honored to bring back the work of teamLab to the San Francisco Bay Area for the second time. While the hugely successful teamLab show in 2016 featured large-scale installation works throughout Pace's former space in Menlo Park, the new exhibition at Pace in downtown Palo Alto will feature six screen works each with a different number of monitors. Continuous Life and Death at the Now of Eternity will be on view from November 15, 2018 - January 6, 2019 with an opening reception on Wednesday, November 14 from 4-7pm.

Viewers will be encouraged to partake in this digital playground for all ages, to witness the visually morphing beauty of the screen works, to explore the associated pioneering and intellectual concepts of these technologies at work, as well as the mesmerizing innovative capabilities at play. These works are a powerful testament to the advancement of and growing interest in digital art as well as its unique ability to nurture creativity and curiosity through technology.

Founded in 2001 by Toshiyuki Inoko with a handful of friends, teamLab is a tech-art collective made up of over four-hundred members with backgrounds ranging from the fine arts, engineering, architecture, animation, philosophy, design, and mathematics. Drawing from their diverse fields and specialties, teamLab's works are the result of an emphasis on collaborative thinking and creation over individual authorship. teamLab is at the forefront of exploring and expressing the interconnectivity of technology, humans, and nature through digital art.
