Throckmorton Fine Art is pleased to offer “The Director’s Cut”, a special exhibit that commemorates Kraige Block’s fifteenth anniversary as Director of the gallery. This will showcase his personal favorites, highlighting key and iconic images from more than 80 exhibitions during his tenure.

Kraige Block’s contributions are many, ranging from selecting which artists to showcase, reviewing portfolios, designing exhibits, assisting with acquisitions, and creating collections for private and public institutions. His work has been instrumental in helping cement Throckmorton Fine Art’s reputation as a premier dealer specializing in Latin American fine art photography, with an ever increasing international focus.

“The Director’s Cut” offers works by photographers who have been influential and innovative in the field. These works have inspired, nurtured, and have left an outstanding impression on many generations of artists and the general public alike.

“The Director’s Cut” will offer the work of a wide range of celebrated photography artists, including Edward Weston, Tina Modotti, Manuel Alvarez Bravo, Martin Chambi, Lucien Clergue, Ruven Afanador, Marilyn Bridges, Graciela Iturbide, Flor Garduno, Mario Algaze, Javier Silva-Meinel, Luis Gonzalez Palma, Valdir Cruz, Christian Cravo, Gao Yuan and Dimitris Yeros.

Block’s choices were guided by an effort to seek the best and the most powerful images from the influential group of artists currently represented at the gallery. He and we are pleased to be able to share them with you.
