White Cube is pleased to present ‘Raft’, a solo exhibition of sculptures and works on paper by Rachel Kneebone (b. 1973, Oxfordshire, UK). Titled after Théodore Géricault’s monumental painting The Raft of the Medusa (1818–19), depicting desperate bodies cast adrift following the wreck of a French naval frigate, Kneebone’s series of sculptures probe the arc of human life: hope and despair; birth, growth and death.
