Ann Hyun-Ju’s work bears the mark of her training in both painting and sculpture. Experimentation is at the very heart of her approach and is a part of every aspect of her work: supports, shapes, materials, color association… Her abstract paintings, influenced by 1960s and 1970s American minimalism, refute any metaphorical language and all narrative intentions.
