Description
NOTE: One of 13 children of a surgical instrument maker, At 13 he was a student of the Vienna Academy.
From 1827, he received commissions for portraits and miniatures -- by family tradition it is said that he did portraits of almost all of the rich manufacturers of Mariahilf. He married a great beauty in Budapest in 1835 and became known in the circles of the Palatine, Archduke Joseph, which led to a brilliant career patronized by the court and nobility of the Duel Monarchy.
