Graham Knuttel

Biography
Graham Knuttel is an Irish contemporary artist known for his distinctively stylized, brightly colored sculptures and paintings. The tubular forms and rounded angles that he regularly employs in his works are reminiscent of the French Modernist painter Fernand Léger. Knuttel often uses quotidian urban scenes with scowling figures or portraits of animals such as sheep, cats, or fish as subject matter. Born in 1954 in Dublin, Ireland, Knuttel went on to study art at the Dún Laoghaire School of Art and Design. Knuttel’s works are in the collections of the Arts Council of Ireland in Dublin and the Hugh Lane Gallery in Dublin, among others. Knuttel lives and works in Dublin, Ireland.
