Description
Gösta Bohm (1890-1981) was active as a decorative painter 1911-1917 at the same time as he conducted art studies on his own until 1920. He studied with, among others, Richard Guhr and at various art schools in Dresden 1921-1925 and then in Italy in 1926-1927. He painted landscapes, figures and portraits, at first with expressionist weight and power, later with a more French-influenced color scheme and lighter and more graceful composition. He also worked with monotypes where he created a personal style. Notable among his public works is the altarpiece in Hölick’s chapel . Bohm is represented at, among others, the National Museum and the Modern Museum in Stockholm.
