The "Art Portfolio Genesis" by Markus Lüpertz is a cassette containing fourteen original prints. Each work is the result of a combination of lithography and woodcut and has been personally signed by the artist. Each sheet is numbered to signify the exclusivity of the prints. In addition to the prints, the art portfolio also contains fourteen texts written by Markus Lüpertz. These texts are excerpts from his Genesis diary and were printed by letterpress.

The titles of the graphics were taken from the Epic of Gilgamesh, more specifically the first, fifth and tenth panels in the translation by Stefan M. Maul, published by C.H. Beck Verlag Munich 2005, 20177. The graphics and diary texts were printed on high quality Rives handmade paper weighing 250 g.
The printing process took place at the Markus Gell printing workshop in Rankweil, while the type design was done by Kurt Dornig in Dornbirn. The cassettes containing the art portfolio were made by bookbinder Peter Köll in Innsbruck.

The Genesis art portfolio is a limited edition of which a total of 98 numbered and signed copies were produced. In addition to these copies, there are twelve more that are not intended for the trade and are designated as "EA" (Epreuve d'Artiste).
