Description
Pages from a poetry book by Mehdi Akhavan-Sales
In the first group, Armajani selected and detached those poems with which he closely identified
from a printed copy of Akhavan’s anthology. These include
‘Dariche-ha’ (‘Windows’) (1956) (p. 22), ‘Chun Sabu-ye Teshneh’ (‘Like a Parched Pitcher’)
(1956) (p. 22) and ‘Chavoshi’ (‘Itinerant Chanter’) (1956) (pp. 46–47). He wrote over the verses
in black marker and signed his own full name, ‘Ismaʿil Siyavush Armajani’, next to the poet’s,
perhaps accentuating his philosophical kinship and political bond with him.
