Description
In contrast to his simple, geometric works, Brushstrokes is an example of his more fluid, sinuous forms and rich, overlapping hues, here shimmering through a diaphanous interlace. In this work, LeWitt explores the components of the medium of painting itself: everything rests on the line, straight or undulating. In the end, all writing and painting is based on an abstraction - a concept. In the course of the 20th century, Sol LeWitt became the artist who most explored the ambiguity between abstraction and material reality.
