Description
By gilding banknotes to mimic gold-leafed folding screens, the front sides become “kin”, and the backs become “kane”. “Kin (gold)” and “kane (cash)” are both readings of the character 金. By trimming around the image of Mt. Fuji printed on the thousand yen note, this work takes on the appearance of a landscape painting of Mt. Fuji.
