Description
“ALLEGORY OF THE FALLEN ANGEL LUCIFER AND HIS LAST AGONY”
#Lucifer@FA
In mythology, the ideal of fallen angels is a metaphor for the human struggle with evil and temptation.
It is seen as an allegory for the human condition, in which people must confront their own flaws and temptations in order to lead a moral life.
Overall, the concept of fallen angels represents a link between the "upperworld" and "underworld", as it suggests that even beings of the highest realm can fall and become associated with the lower realm. It serves as a warning against arrogance and hubris and emphasizes the importance of humility and vigilance in maintaining a connection to the higher realm.
The most described fallen angel is "Lucifer".
Lucifer was considered to be the brightest and most beautiful of all the angels in heaven before his fall.
Thus, he was referred to as the "Morning Star" as a way to emphasize his once-glorious status and his subsequent downfall.
In the composition, we see Lucifer in his last stages before his downfall.
His wings are getting black already, a symbol of his deteriorating status as a fallen angel.
He is anxious about what is going to happen to him. He feels the pain of his body transforming.
But as he looks down, he is astonished as he sees the world below him seems to be burning.
The world itself seems to be falling in pain.
He wonders how deep humanity itself has fallen and how many angels are falling with him.
He is in double agony now and terrified about himself and the world. Where will this end ?
