Graduated from the Horace Mann School, New York, NY
Attended William Merritt Chase Summer School of Art, Shinnecock, Long Island, NY
Enrolled in Columbia University and studied architecture, New York, NY

Attended William Merritt Chase Summer School of Art, Shinnecock, Long Island, NY

Left Columbia and attended New York School of Art full-time, New York, NY
Studied with Robert Henri and Kenneth Hayes Miller
Studied with Abbott Thayer, in NH during the summer
Began work with Ewing & Chappell, Architects, in New York (provides intermittent employment as an architectural draftsman for following ten years
Began relationship with George Chappell, forming a team of satirist––Kent under the pseudonym, Hogarth, Jr.––illustrated Life, Puck, Vanity Fair, and other publications throughout the teens and 1920s)
1905
Moved to Monhegan Island, ME, which remains his permanent address until 1910
1910
Taught at Monhegan Summer School of Art, Monhegan Island, ME; Travels to Newfoundland, Canada
1911
Moved to New York with his family and resumed work as an architectural draftsman
