First established in 1988 as Universal Fine Objects (or UFO), the Albert Merola Gallery has been representing and exhibiting the finest in historic, modern, and contemporary Provincetown-related art for over 34 years. Operated solely by Albert Merola and James Balla, we have worked to maintain a strong roster of dedicated artists. In addition to yearly one person shows by gallery artists, throughout the years we have had numerous curated exhibitions (Eliminate, curated by John Waters; Flowers, curated by Tim Callis, and HEAD2HEAD are a few examples) that have introduced lesser known as well as internationally known artists to Provincetown. All of the artists that we represent have a high level of integrity and dedication to their work, as well as a connection to Provincetown.
The gallery also deals with fine prints and has been a leading authority on the ceramic editions of Picasso.
