Allouche Gallery Los Angeles is proud to present b.’s debut solo exhibition, Scattered in Los Angeles. Opening October 20, 2022, with nine pristine new works. b. focuses on the concept of randomness.

He states: “Randomness is the medium that I use, an ability that a pile of trash would have, and by that ability, I incorporate anything that can be recognized or be a part of a collective memory.”

“Scattered ” refers to the idea or the result of an idea occurring in numerous locations from a random assortment of natural yet visually compelling objects. His piece “New York” or a vast forest like “Amazon”, refer to the scattering of human traces. They comment on globalization, pollution, over-consumption, and of global phenomena such as climate change, endangered species, and social inequality. Making the idea of a world with trash apparent, b. explains the show’s method and inspiration: “Firstly, I prepared this body of work around the concept of the scattering of trash and human trace globally. An example is that a bottle of Coca-Cola can be found anywhere on the planet, even in places that no human has ever been.” The idea of contamination in the world is one of the largest issues human kind faces today. In b’s piece “Miami” (shown above) he shows a shark being washed out of the ocean and lying in a pile of Miami Vice T-shirts, VHS Tapes and aerobic magazines symbolizing the iconic 80’s era. b.[born 1982] works and lives in Athens, Greece. He began drawing graffiti in 1996 throughout his childhood and adolescence. b. later went on to study at the University of Thessaly in Volos, Greece, where he graduated in 2009. He works primarily with acrylic on canvas.
