From December 3, 2021 to February 5, 2022, this exhibition highlights the vast graphic repertoire developed by the Italian master of informal art over more than four decades, to produce on paper the material effects of his painting and to arouse the spectator's amazement.
Famous for his relentless research into unconventional processes and materials, Alberto Burri approaches graphic design techniques like a laboratory, a new field of experimentation. Driven by a very high level of requirement, Burri pushes the boundaries of materials with the help of the best printers and master engravers to make grafica a stand-alone work in its own right, of controlled complexity.
It is this part of his work, less known in France but fascinating, that we highlight through several series: Combustione (1964), Combustioni (1965) Bianchi e Neri I (1967-68), Cretti (1971) , Multiplex (1981), Cellotex (1992), Monotex (1994) and Trittico (1994).
