Antonio Ocaña and Mildred Canahuate present at the art gallery Arawak of Santo Domingo en exhibit titled "Oviedo, universo magico" to celebrate the 85th birthday of Ramon Oviedo. The selected paintings were created between 1994-2004 and form part of the Ocaña collection
2007
His mural painting "El nacimiento de la constitucion" is unveiled in the National Congress of the Dominican Republic. The size of this painting is of 195 x 16 inches.
2006
The Ministry of Culture of the Dominican Republic inaugurated on September 6 the "Sala Ramon Oviedo" a space dedicated to art exhibits.
2005
His mural painting "Justice" in unveiled at the "Sala Augusta" of the new building of the Supreme Court of Justice in his native D.R. The size of this is 110 inches in height by 347.5 inches in width (2.79 meters by 8.81 meters)
2004
Commemorating his 80th birthday five major exhibits are organized in Santo Domingo:
1. "The last decade" representing paintings on canvass by Ramon Oviedo at the Centro Cultural de España (Spanish Embassy Cultural Center)
2. "Recent drawings" at the contemporary gallery ElEspacio, with drawings made by Ramon Oviedo in the first months of 2004
3. "Recent paintings" at the contemporary gallery Lyle O. Reitzel with paintings made by Ramon Oviedo in the first months of 2004
4. "Selfportraits" including over twenty selfportraits created by Ramon Oviedo in the last four decades at the French Embassy
5. "Homenage to Oviedo" where several of the best young artists created each a painting inspired by Oviedo's Works at the contemporary gallery Arawak
His sculpture "Absolut Oviedo" is exhibited at Plaza España in Santo Domingo, D.R. as part of the public project "Absolut Generations"
2003
Exhibits a series of small paintings in La Galeria, Santo Domingo, D.R.
Ramon Oviedo is included in the 2004 edition of the Pequeño Larousse, the most important dictionary and enciclopedia in the Spanish language.
Inaugurates at the Fundación Global para la Democracia y el Desarrollo his mural painting "Summum" made in acrilic on canvass. The size of this mural painting is 130 inches in height by 300 inches in width.
2001
Inaugurates a mural of three meters high by twenty meters in length at the Presidential Room in the Secretary of State of the Armed Forces of his native Dominican Republic
Major exhibit at the Chateau Musee Grimaldi in Cagnes sur Mer, France of his paintings from 1994 thru 2000. This exhibit was curated by Cecira Armitano and the entire museum was dedicated to this exhibit.
The Expo Fleur of the French Mediterranean (the most important flower fair in France) promotes this important event with a painting of Ramon Oviedo.
Inaugurates his mural painting titled "Bolivar is America" in the Embassy of the Republic of Venezuela in the Dominican Republic.
Presents his most recent works titled "Oculto Deambulatorio" in the Galeria de Arte Arawak in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. This exhibit was curated by Cecira Armitano.
2000
Presents his new production titled "Traces of the Future" in Artspace/Virginia Miller Galleries in Coral Gables, Florida during the months of February, March and April.
An exhibit of his recent paintings inaugurates the new French Embassy in the Dominican Republic. This exhibit is curated by Cecira Armitano.
Participates in the exhibit "Espaces des Ameriques" along with Lam, Matta, Segui, Cardenas etc., which was first shown in Paris, France at the Maison de Ameriques Latine which will be presented in Haiti, Peru and other latinamerican and caribbean countries. In the Dominican Republic it was presented at the French Embassy and curated by Hellen Lasalle and Cecira Armitano. This exhibit was created by Edouard Glissant as the initial collection for the Musee Martiniquais des Ats des Ameriques
Participates in the collective of latinamerican art in Artspace/Virginia Miller Galleries starting in May.
“Ramon Oviedo, Dominican Master Painter" is presented at the Alice and William Jenkins Gallery of the Crealde School of Arts in Orlando, Florida. This exhibit is curated by Andres Perez, member of the Crealde Gallery Committee.
