Drawing inspiration from the likes of Calder, Miro, Chagall, and Picasso, noted contemporary artist David Michael Slonim will make his New York debut this spring at Bonner David Galleries. Calling on the rhythms and motifs of these noted modernists, Slonim evokes the physical and psychological aspects of both harmony and discord as he pursues honest human expression. His playful, fluid application of paint creates emotive abstractions that appear to, in essence, defy gravity.“Abstract painting is asking a question with a paint brush in your hand,” comments Slonim. Indeed, he answers a variety of weighty questions with each new work which can be witnessed at this inaugural New York exhibition.
