David Remfry was born in Sussex in 1942. He studied at Hull College of Art from 1959-1964 when he moved to London. Remfry was elected a member of the Royal Watercolour Society in 1987, awarded the M.B.E. in 2001 for Services to British Art by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. He currently lives and works in New York City.

Boca Raton Museum of Art, Florida. DANCERS - An international touring exhibition originated by the BRMA and curated by Executive Director George S. Bolge. The exhibition presents a body of work begun in 1985. A book featuring essays by Edward Lucie-Smith, Dore Ashton and Carter Ratcliff, and an interview with Alanna Heiss has been published by the BRMA
