Revel in the madcap worlds of Salvador Dali, Damien Hirst and Hunt Slonem, as these three extraordinary artists take on the monarchs of spring! Featuring a vivid body of artwork, the exhibition will include an array of pieces that delight in delicate wings, vibrant colors and the joy of artistic escape.
Occasionally controversial yet wildly successful, Damien Hirst made his infamous solo debut at the Woodstock Street Gallery in 1991, with an installation titled ‘In and Out of Love’ that filled the gallery with hundreds of live tropical butterflies and foreshadowed an enduring infatuation with the subject. Much like Hirst, leading Surrealist Salvador Dali was equally captivated by these bewinged beauties and created several graphic series in homage to the butterfly, including his magnificently witty adaptation of the Spanish ballet, Le Tricorn. Lastly, but most certainly not least, celebrated contemporary painter Hunt Slonem owes much of his success to these enchanting creatures, as his lush and gestural renderings capture both the inner and outer beauty of these exceptional creatures. DTR Modern Galleries invites you to celebrate to the butterfly muse with us, as these three renowned artists, Salvador Dali, Damien Hirst and Hunt Slonem continue to singlehandedly revolutionize the art world today.
