Biography

Timeline

Zesatti is a Mexican born artist who currently lives and works in Mexico City. His paintings center on photo-realism, and his use of light makes one feel as if they were viewing the actual image or a photograph. He paints with such precision with the help of photographs that he takes of plant life in Mexico, principally in the regions of Veracruz. He usually paints in the first plane, primarily tropical and vegetation scenes and without figures in his painting. He is much appreciated in Mexico and as well has a large international market, with many of his paintings sold in Europe, the United States, South America and the Caribbean. Two important books have been published on his life and work, the first co-sponsored in 2002 by the Zurich Insurance Group together with Grupo Domos, an edition of 2500. The most recent was sponsored by MVS (Multivision TV & Radio), illustrating his post 2002 work, an edition of 3500, published in 2008.
Since 1999 Interart has held 4 very successful exhibitions of this artist, and his work appears and sells in the international auction exhibitions of Sotheby's and Christie's latin american art sales in New York.
