In his work Henrik Olesen (Denmark, b. 1967) addresses questions about identity, language, the body and their construction to describe relations of power and social norms. His new group of works exhibited at Galerie Buchholz New York takes as its point of entry the writing of Samuel Delany, and particularly his groundbreaking science fiction novel “Dhalgren” from 1975. This exhibition is presented jointly with an exhibition by the artist at Reena Spaulings Fine Art, New York.
