Founded in August 2006, Galerie Christian Lethert pursues a clear concept apart from the predominant common trends with positions in Contemporary Art, particularly painture, sculpture, and photography. Every five to eight weeks, the gallery presents, in their 120-square-meter space, interesting single and group exibitions, combined with a supporting program including lectures and discussion.
Christian Lethert (b.1981) assisted Galerie Klein in Bad Münstereifel (formerly in Bonn) from 1997 till 2006, and he coached exhibitions in the gallery and presentations on national and foreign art fairs. In the meantime, Christian Lethert completed his degree in spring 2006 in Business Administration, and wrote his thesis on business start-ups in art market. During the course of his studies, he also assisted Griffin Contemporary in Los Angeles, where he guest-curated exhibitions by Joseph Beuys and Richard Tuttle.
Galerie Christian Lethert is located in the center of Cologne in the famous Belgian quarter, close to Friesenplatz with a direct connection to the public transportation. The artists represented in the gallery are multi-faceted, representing the broad spectrum between established and young newcomers.
