The exhibition (un)familiar is a contemporary exploration of the human body as a site of intensity, fears, obsessions, memories and perceptions that merge the autobiographical with the collective consciousness, whether literally or in an abstract sense.Especially in today’s digital world, characterized by disembodiment and desensualization, the embodiment of these fleeting but nonetheless existential emotions through a sculptural or painterly process takes on a new urgency, inviting the viewers to reconnect to themselves. The exhibition features works by different generations of artists, from Eva Aeppli, Louise Bourgeois, and Miriam Cahn to Carol Rama, Sara Masüger, and Loredana Sperini. They all try to reconnect between our senses and our body.
