Galerie m with its broad and light-flooded exhibition rooms is located immediatly in the Schlosspark Haus Weitmar in Bochum, Germany.
Founded in 1969, the gallery m is today owned by Susanne Breidenbach since 2003. The programme concentrates on international contemporary art including painting, sculpture, graphic, photography, film, video and installation.
Artistic positions are not considered in reference to quick trends, but rather in terms of a long-term collaboration as well as an intense examination and following-up of their artistic development.
Sustainability and care are also an important basis for the relationship with private customers, museums and companies. Consulting and building-up of private as well as company collections has always been part of the gallery work.
The gallery was founded in 1969 by Alexander von Berswordt-Wallrabe, especially as a gallery for Neue Konkrete Kunst . Since then the programmatic emphasis of the gallery lies on the presentation and support of international contemporary art. The programme has continuously extended and opened up for new artistic positions.
