The Iranian-born artist Mahssa Askari studied at the Düsseldorf Academy and lives and works in Düsseldorf. This is the 2nd solo exhibition at Galerie Ute Parduhn.Mahssa Askari calls back to us the longing for paradise through her painting. "She loves spaces that seem artificial because the floor seems slippery and the architecture reminds us of mirror images. One looks at water that is not there and lets one's gaze wander over scenes that seem transparent, translucent and permeable. The viewer always has the feeling that the stick figures with dotted heads could be real people, but are slipped out in the next moment. Nowhere is a firm hold everything reflected in everything becomes light and fragile and weightless." (Helga Meister)
