Blindness remains an enigma.
“It is not easy to distinguish a motionless blind person” (George Seldes)The seeing artist sometimes discerns underlying truths; his inspired and essentially revolutionary contribution can illuminate the society of his time.
“To show, to make visible” would be its role, according to Paul Klee.
Our exhibition consists of faint glows… the gropings, as well as the bright lights and the dazzling image.
These examples of blindness can be seen clearly by the visitors’ slow and patient “uncovering of shadows”.
Our landmarks: drawings, paintings, sculptures, texts, prints, objects of memory dominated by the central figure of an “archaic thinker”, a vertical replica of a child’s artisanal Recamier carrying a white cane. R.B.
