For our ninth participation at TEFAF Maastricht we are proud to present three major Contemporary photographers: German artists Candida Höfer (born 1944) and Thomas Struth (born 1954) and the Japanese artist Hiroshi Sugimoto (born 1948).

Among the highlights of our stand are Thomas Struth’s new work Hecke, Feldberger Seenlandschaft 2021, an inkjet print showing a dramatic winter landscape taken near Struth’s country house, in the north of Germany and Mobile Art 2, Hong Kong, 2008 showing a sculptural pavilion originally designed for Chanel by Zaha Hadid for Central Park in New York that was later moved to Hong Kong.

Moreover we show three large libraries by Candida Höfer, that focus on the bare beauty of the architecture. The emptiness and the absence of human interference offers the viewer an opportunity for own projection. Books are an important part of the content and composition of the body of work.

The third wall of the stand is dedicated to Hiroshi Sugimoto with a selection of individual photographs from his iconic early Seascape series taken on his trips at day and night time and three works from the Theatre series that he started in 1978, taken with a Hasselblatt camera and long exposure. We also show an architectural photograph taken in a staircase in the famous building Casa Batlló in Barcelona by Antoni Gaudí.
