Gallery Hyundai is pleased to present Reflection, a solo exhibition of Yoo Geun-Taek, from October 25 through December 3. Reflection marks the artist's third solo exhibition at Gallery Hyundai in six years since Promenade held in 2017. The exhibition features over thirty works from his major series including Spring - Beginning of the World, Fountain, Moving Life, Window, Speaking Garden, and Reflection. The exhibition’s title "Reflection," derives from one of the artist's most iconic series, serving as a keyword that encapsulates the artist's oeuvre, which sprung from everyday landscapes, simultaneously projecting the essence of humans and objects through a lyrical yet keen perspective.
The artist invites the viewers into diverse landscapes imbued with the transience of existence and disappearance. The exhibition features captivating scenes, including brilliantly illuminated night landscapes seen through the windows, landscapes where fountains reach the peak, cutting and deconstructing the screen, a world where humans disappear, leaving everyday objects to dominate the room, unfamiliar landscapes of lakes changing over the seasons where two worlds coexist, and surreal landscapes where plants intertwine with the artist's everyday objects, growing from the ground. Reflection offers viewers a new painterly space that engages the body and the senses through gazing the splendid landscapes that shatter and disappear.
