FERNANDO BOTERO: BOTEROSUTRA
HOMAGE TO FERNANDO BOTERO
The renowned Colombian artist Maestro Fernando Botero was famously known for his signature style of depicting figures with exaggerated proportions and volumes. His art has been praised for its unique style that blends humor, wit, and social commentary.
Throughout his career, Botero delved into every aspect of the human anatomy, from portraiture to landscapes and everything in between. We proudly present one of his latest series, BoteroSutra, at the Gary Nader Art Centre. It is a significant experience for art enthusiasts to witness this body of work, as it reveals a side of his artistic survey and the evolution of an artist who spent his life exploring volume in his work.
With his unique artistic style, Botero created a series depicting the millennial Hindu book Kama Sutra. The exhibition comprises fourteen erotic paintings, drawings, and sculptures portraying couples in various intimate positions. These unique pieces are executed in oil on canvas, graphite, watercolor, marble, and bronze, and continue Botero's iconic imagery. The artist's exceptional skill is masterfully highlighted in the execution of the artworks, solidifying Botero's status as the world's most recognized artist of all time. Each piece is a testament to Botero's ability to combine artistic traditions with his unique vision, resulting in a stunning collection of artworks.
