The Fairy Godmother is Mathieu Malouf’s second solo exhibition with the gallery. References and represented figures include: Donatello, Auguste Rodin, Hans Baldung Grien, Hans von Marées, Miss Piggy, Kermit the Frog, St. Jerome, the Gremlins film franchise, Egon Eiermann, Charles and Ray Eames, George Condo, Eddie van Halen, the ancient Egyptian goddess Nut, the ancient Greek god Pan, Joan Miró, Jana Euler, 20th century Los Angeles transit theorists, Jared Leto, The Christmas Carol’s Emily Crachit, Sigmund Freud, Cinderella, Olivia Newton John, Venus Anadyomene, Erik von Markovik (better known as the Canadian pick-up artist named Mystery), René Magritte, Wigilia supper, and Willem Dafoe.

Mathieu Malouf lives and works in New York.
