Galleri Andersson/Sandström focuses on international Contemporary Art, and represents both well-established names on the international arena and young emerging artists from the Nordic region. The program is focused on Contemporary sculpture, painting, photography, and installations, but the gallery has a special interest in outdoor sculpture and public commissions.
Since 1994, the gallery has cooperated with real estate company, Balticgruppen, to arrange one of Europe's most important sculpture parks, Umedalen Skulptur, which includes a permanent collection of work by Louise Bourgeois, Tony Cragg, Antony Gormley, Miroslav Balka, and many more.
The gallery was founded in Umeå in northern Sweden in 1980, by Stefan Andersson. With the second owner, Sara Sandström Nilsson, the gallery expanded and opened its second space in Stockholm in 2008.
