Oblong Contemporary Gallery opens the exhibition “Discovering the Female Universe: From Art to Jewellery” in cooperation with the Italian high jewellery brand VESCHETTI from the 26th until the 30th of November 2021.   A Journey through discovering the binomial between art and high-end jewellery, Oblong and VESCHETTI highlight the creative expression and design of the art craft of gemstones in connection with the strong power of innovative female international artists.  ABOUT VESCHETTI Veschetti Jewellery designs exude all maximalist glamour you would expect for an Italian brand founded in 1949. Stressing on the quality of design, composition, cut, fine gemstones, amazing workmanship - all these ingredients together make something exceptional – Oblong Contemporary and Veschetti celebrate jewellery as a real work of art.   ABOUT THE ARTISTS Italian artist Roberta Diazzi has developed her own expressive code, starting to work with Swarovski®️ Crystals made specifically for her works. Horses, lions, jaguars, peacocks and eagles are depicted in three-dimensional paintings through the use of coloured crystals of different sizes. The representation of the wildest and most powerful animal world becomes for her an emblem of absolute beauty and harmony. These works can be understood as mosaics of light that give energy and power to the sparkling figures. Accustomed to Contemporary Art since her childhood and fascinated by metal that was part of her family and metallurgic hometown, Tiziana Lorenzelli started as a teenager making sculptures with scraps that ended up in the ’80 with the “Electrological Trees” series. In 2009 she patented a new material ALUFLEXIA®, a flexible sandwich of aluminium that, in the form of a vase, won the Bronze Medal in Sustainable Design at IDA Los Angeles 2011. This exclusive material has been the focus of her last years’ conceptual work and a great impulse for a new series of sculptures based on Metal, Earth, Nature and Life Cycle.  Yana Rusnak uses a particular technique to create artworks that contain elements of gold. Gold is considered as a standard of high relations, a symbol of ancient knowledge: the secrets of earth and fire, the elixir of life and immortality, love, royalty and light. The gold generously poured in Rusnak’s canvases is also a symbol of the mystery of the Earth, sunlight or even holiness. Yana weaves some deeper human codes connected to symbols and metaphors to indicate the inner spirit.
