Ota Fine Arts is pleased to present "Ombak Hitam", the first solo exhibition of Zai Kuning in Japan.

He is one of Singapore's most important artists whose multi-disciplinary practice includes painting, sculpture, performance, theatre, music and documentary film etc.

In relation to his deep interest in the history and the culture of the sea people in Riau, Zai has created a series of drawings in varying shades of black related to the Kuroshio current which connects Japan and Riau culturally in many ways.
