237 East Palace Ave Santa Fe, NM, USA Friday, December 7, 2012–Saturday, March 16, 2013

Opening Reception: December 7th, 5-8pm

Celebrating two decades, this exhibit is the most comprehensive collection of Spanish Colonial Viceregal Art available for sale in a commercial setting in the world. Featuring paintings, sculpture, furniture, silverwork, and objects from the former Spanish and Portuguese colonies of present day Bolivia, Peru, Argentina, Mexico, Ecuador, Chile, Venezuela, Guatemala, Brazil and the Philippines. Internationally, interest in the Historic Art of the Americas is burgeoning. Institutions, museums, private collections, scholars and auction houses, are simultaneously acknowledging this field with exhibition catalogues, books, forums and scholarly letters, with new attention to an all-too-long overlooked field. Significant works from the collection of Dr. Jose Neistein will be included in the exhibition.
