Tina Kim Gallery looks forward to returning to the Netherlands for TEFAF Maastricht 2024, which will be on view at the MECC Maastricht from Saturday, March 9 to Thursday, March 14 in Stand 462. This year, we bring together a selection of iconic historical works by Ha Chong-Hyun, Kim Tschang-Yeul, Kwon Young-Woo, Lee Ufan, Park Seo-Bo, and Suh Seung-Won, as well as extraordinary modern and contemporary artists, including Louise Bourgeois, Jenny Holzer, Pacita Abad, Jennifer Tee, Suki Seokyeong Kang, Kibong Rhee, and Bill Viola.
Contemporary highlights include Filipino-American artist Pacita Abad, widely celebrated for her trapunto paintings, who is the subject of a major traveling North American retrospective that recently closed at SFMOMA, soon to be shown at MoMA PS1 in April. Pacita is invited to Biennale Arte 2024, curated by Adriano Pedrosa. Stranieri Ovunque - Foreigners Everywhere is the 60th iteration of the International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia, and will take place from April 20 to November 24, 2024, at the Giardini, the Arsenale and various venues in Venice. Amsterdam based Chinese-Indonesian Dutch artist Jennifer Tee, whose debut solo exhibition Ancestral Beginnings, Sessile Beingsis currently on view in our New York space, featuring her Tampan Tulip series, which was shown at the Kunstinstituut Melly and Vienna Secession will also have works on view. Suki Seokyeong Kang, whose celebrated exhibition at Leeum Museum of Art Willow Drum Oriole recently closed as well as Kibong Rhee, widely celebrated for his ethereal and metaphysical works whose solo exhibition is upcoming at Tina Kim Gallery in October will have new works on view.
Our presentation of Dansaekhwa artists coincides with Only the Young: Experimental Art in Korea, 1960s-1970s which recently opened at the Hammer Museum in Los Angeles.
