Alexander Churchill

(American, born 1983)

Alexander Churchill is a contemporary American painter whose works are an absurdist examination of his own ignorance’s and privileges and their upward scalability. Culture, race, heritage, place, purpose, and societal participation come into play when looking at the experiential niche he occupies. Chaotic and incoherent color schemes intermingle with complacent subject matter and competing painting styles, creating an anxiety that leaves the viewer with a sense of disharmonious engagement. He was born in California in 1983 and raised in Vermont where he earned a BFA in painting at Green Mountain College. He has shown his work throughout the country and is currently a member of the Silvermine Guild of Artists in New Canaan, CT where he sits on the curatorial committee.he holds a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Art from Green Mountain College, Vermont. Alexander currently lives and works in Connecticut, USA.
