Biography
Colombian artist Ana Mercedes Hoyos was born in Bogota in 1942. She was passionate about Latin American culture, traditions and folklore and was particularly known for her figurative art. Educated in Colombia at the Universidad de los Andes in Bogota, she continued her studies in the United States.
Hoyos traveled extensively throughout her life, spending time in Europe and studying painting techniques in Italy.
